Meet the incredible Isla!

This two-year old, 22 pound pup is love and resilience wrapped together perfectly. Isla has had an incredibly sad past but has not let it define her, her love for people or her zest for life.

Several months ago, Isla was discovered in an area frequently used as a dumping ground. She showed up at her finder’s door unable to put pressure on one of her front legs and full with milk, having just given birth. Upon looking for Isla’s puppies, the finder found them deceased.

Isla has a softness about her that shows us that she is thoughtful of her past but focused on her future. She seeks connection to her human and offers the sweetest tail wags in exchange. She will lift her paw daintily and look for your approval and comfort before she becomes too curious. Once she feels comfortable, she will explore her surroundings and make herself at home.

Isla has a congenital defect in one of her eyes that is not painful or in need of any treatment. Her paw was examined by a vet and there were no issues found so we think perhaps it was just a temporary strain. Isla looks like she has been through it a bit in life but she is coming into her own and her body and mind are thriving with love infused by her foster and all those she meets.
