Max thought he had a forever - but when someone close to our rescue asked for help vetting their dogs, we happily stepped in. What we didn't know was that forever wasn't what she had in mind. Instead of keeping her promise to Max, she left him at the shelter and claimed he was a stray. Max watched her walk away, confused and heartbroken. We got the call and raced to scoop him up the moment we learned what happened.
